The tips keep on coming with how one can use the PlayStation Vita to turn yourself into a headshot machine, among other things.
One thing that Bend Studio delivered wonderfully is using the gyroscope in the PlayStation Vita to great effect for aiming.
First things first, players can move the Vita around to move the crosshairs on screen while aiming. On its own it may prove to be more of a nuisance than anything else and making wide turns is next to impossible. However, it seems that the game’s developer did not intend for motion control to replace conventional aiming, especially with the introduction of dual analogue sticks.
The best aiming can be done by using the analogue stick and then making minor adjustments with the motion control and presto, Uncharted: Golden Abyss suddenly has the best aiming on every non-PC console.
One could think of it as a combination of the controller paired with the precision of the Move controller but with the level of balance that consoles have been missing all these years.
The best example of this is using the scope with the Dragon Sniper rifle in the game. If one can master that, which is easy enough to do, and apply the same fine tuning to their other weapons, well then, it won’t be long before three bullets is all the player needs to take down three enemy soldiers.
Also a neat tip for the Dragon Sniper and Camera is the fact that players can use the rear touch pad to adjust the zoom instead of the one on-screen, which can prove to be rather clumsy and imprecise.
Next up is the art of Treasure hunting and the best tip that can be given is to explore and try and go the wrong way whenever possible. If the game is asking you to go left then try and go right to see what happens. Chances are that the player will end up in hidden room or find something tucked away in the corner.
Also whenever a chapter begins, try turning around and exploring where Drake came from, more often than not the player will find something of interest.
Treasure can also be found during cut-scenes; so if the player sees something glinting or sparkling while Drake and the other characters are going through their dialogues than touching them on the screen will actually get that particular treasure.
