Part 1: Nintendo is looking to get its console off to the best of starts as it releases a strong launch day lineup of games for consumers including a number of major franchises.
Nintendo will be releasing over 50 titles within the first five months of release of their latest console with a majority of the games available from day one. The console needs to convince various diverse segments of gamers that the Wii U is for them and the launch lineup reflects that.
It should be noted that while a number of games are releasing on the 18th of November, there will be more titles released until March, which is the end of the launch window as defined by Nintendo.
Starting things off with some of the bigger names and franchises gamers will be able to associate with, as well as those titles that will entice core gamers to shift to Nintendo’s console.
Ubisoft has been a busy bunny for Nintendo and will have no less than six titles available on launch day with a further two set for release before March.
Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth and Rayman Legends are the two games that will not be making the launch day deadline but will be released later on, while ESPN Sports Connection, Your Shape: Fitness Evolved 2013 and Rabbids Land are all for day one releases.
However, all eyes will be on ZombiU, Assassin’s Creed 3 and Just Dance 4 as these are Ubisoft’s biggest titles on offer for the console and the best part for the gaming public is that they are all available from day one.
Warner Bros. is not only bringing Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition to the console on day one but it also has Scribblenauts Unlimited and Game Party Champions readying up to be on offer as well.
THQ is bringing two party games to the ‘party’ during the launch window, yet gamers can expect to be able to pick up Darksiders 2 on day uno with no problem-o as long as they can pay-o.
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed will be SEGA’s offering for the launch window while gamers will have to wait a little bit longer for Aliens: Colonial Marines.
As for Nintendo, well the publisher has a number of games in the pipeline. Sadly, Pikmin 3 and Wii U Fit are two of five titles that gamers will have to wait for while New Super Mario Bros. U, Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge, Nintendo Land and Sing Party will all be available from the second you pick up your Wii U console.
However, that’s not even half the line up on offer for the console, read on to see what other games one can expect on the Nintendo Wii U on launch day. Part 2
