Part 2: Ubisoft’s racer feels like the child of the Need for Speed and Burnout series, but does that make it a great game or a pretender that does not live up to the mark?

Takedowns are another element that add a nice layer for players who want to have a bit of aggression in their driving and be rewarded for it. It may seem like the feature has been ripped right out of Burnout but the lack of crash animations and the car being totalled in glorious details means it does not quite live up to the mark.

In terms of presentation, the game does a great job. The user interface in the menus is slick and there are plenty of options. Winning the races is a joy and the way the game announces you as the winner hits the spot. At the same time the female voice who eggs you on and rewards your crazy driving will have you grinning the first few times you hear here, after that, like every relationship, it will become routine.

There is a wide selection of cars available as well in the game, which players can customize with decals and upgrade the engines and other parts of, adding another layer of depth to the game that few other racers on the PlayStation Vita boast.

At the same time there are a number of race modes such as Elimination and the classic race, among others, as well as a nice selection of tracks as well. Each track has its own jumps, shortcuts and power ups littered across for the players to find in order to gain an advantage over players.

However, the tracks themselves have minimal traffic, which makes racing a little easier and less challenging. At the same time players can ram traffic out of the way, which may suit some but not many.

The demo for the game is available on the PlayStation Store and it does  a great job of showing off what players need to know about the game before making a purchase. It features one track and two cars, the Ferrari 458 Italia and the Fort Mustang GT, complete with the Cobra emblem on the front grill.

So give it a try, it costs nothing. But if you want our view then the game is a must buy for racing fans right now as it has more depth and borrows the best features from a number of racing games. Besides what other choice do you have for an arcade racer with depth to it.
