Akasha the Queen of Pain is an intelligence hero in Defense of the Ancients (Dota) 2 who has a handful of deadly spells at her disposal to strike fear in the hearts of her enemies.
Queen of Pain is a very mobile hero that thrives in solo lanes. Her ability to deal massive damage in a burst and gank is what causes her to be a solid pick.
Her first ability Shadow Strike is a single-target spell that, when placed on target, will deal a 100 initial damage as well as 60 damage per 3 seconds. The targeted enemy is also slowed by 50 percent by the poisoned dagger at its highest level and slowly regains them over the duration of 15 seconds. The low cool-down of 8 seconds will allow the player to use the ability more than once during a battle, making the initial damage quite effective as well as keeping the enemy handicapped.
Queen of Pain’s second spell is called Blink and it in fact a very generic spell that allows her to teleport a short distance, enabling her to catch up to fleeing heroes or making a clean getaway. At Level 4, you can blink up to 1150 range.
Her third ability Scream of Pain is a spell with a 7-second cool-down, that deals 300 damage in a 475 Area of Effect (AoE). It is very helpful for farming as well as finishing off heroes that you covertly blink to.
Her ultimate is the Sonic Wave, which is perfect for a team fight. It will deal 600 damage to units up to 1200 units away. The AoE of the spell starts off at 100 and quickly grows in a cone shape to 300 AoE by the end, so you definitely have to aim well. Luckily, your blink will allow you to position yourself well to use the ultimate with maximum effectiveness. Aghanim’s Scepter also improves her ultimate by not only increasing the damage from 600 to 745, but also reducing the cool-down from 135 seconds to a ridiculously low 40 seconds
Queen of Pain is a nightmare for enemies as her skills allow her to deal quick damage and make is nearly impossible for enemies to make elude death once they are marked by her. When her effectiveness is not based on items, it is crucial for her to get health and mana for improved endurance and spamming of abilities. Her ultimate has the ability to change the fate of battle if used effectively, something that becomes even more impactful after she adds Aghanim’s Scepter to her inventory. Her powerful hero-killing capabilities make her a heavy favourite for players who are really conscious about their stats at the end of the game.
