Mirana, also known as the Priestess of the Moon, is one of the most popular heroes in Defense of the Ancients (Dota) 2. A lot of new players normally stick to her for a long time because of her abilities that are quite newbie-friendly even in their raw form.
Mirana is one of the most flexible heroes in the game. She is one of the few heroes that can thrive in a suicide lane as solo and can also end up carrying your team.
StarStorm is an active skill that will deal all enemies in a 625 Area of Effect (AoE) around Mirana 300 damage. Also, one unlucky unit around her in a 175 AoE will get hit by an additional wave that will deal half of the original damage, thus taking a total damage of 450.
The aptly named skill Arrow has a potential to stun the enemy from anywhere between 0.5 and 5 seconds while damaging them for 360. The duration of stun is dependent on the distance the arrow travels before making an impact with the enemy. For everyone 150 units that the arrow travels, you will gain 0.5 seconds on the stun if it hits. Keep in mind that the invisible units will not be stunned, but will take 360 damage if hit. Also one more thing to remember is that even though the skill is not a target-hero spell, it will still be blocked by Linken’s Sphere.
Mirana’s third skill Leap is great for both getaway and initiation purposes. When activated, Mirana and her trusted tiger, or whatever in God’s name she rides, will jump 840 units in the direction that they are facing. Also, any allies in a 775 AoE of her landing position will gain +16 percent attack and movement speed for 10 seconds. This skill can also be used to dodge certain spells if used at the right time.
Her ultimate Moonlight Shadow is a global skill that will turn your entire team invisible for 11 seconds. Keep in mind that at Level 3 there is a 1.5-second fade-time. As you can imagine, this is an extremely helpful spell that can defensively be used to save an ally or can be used offensively to help your team initiate a battle. When I say initiate the battle, I mean you can be sitting literally on their faces and they would not even notice.
Mirana pretty much excels at everything except tanking. Her first skill allows her to farm effectively, while all her skills make her adept at taking heroes down. The Arrow in particular makes her a deadly foe as she can strike her enemy from a great distance and make them sitting ducks. Leap plays its own special role in enabling Mirana to take care of business. While being pretty fragile, she makes up for it through her skills and items that she can get her hands on quite quickly because of being excellent at farming.
