Black Arachnia the Broodmother is a very solid agility-carry hero who requires a lot of attention as she has the potential to take over the entire game. Her ability to harass and control lane right from the word go is unmatched.
Spawn Spiderlings is her first ability and it starts off as a generic 300-damage nuke. However, if the enemy dies within 2 seconds of being nuked, it will spawn into 3 spiderlings at Level 4. These spiderlings are very cuddly creatures to the naked eye, but as they can be controlled by Broodmother, they can prove to be very deadly creatures. If a spiderlings kills any units, the unit will turn into Spiderites, which are a smaller and less powerful version of Spiderlings. As you can imagine, you can create quite an army of these things and then use it to jungle or push towers.
Broodmother’s second ability Spin Web creates an indestructible web at the target location. These webs last forever, but you can only have up to 8 webs on the map at one time. These webs give Broodmother a +8 health regeneration, +35% move speed and invisibility. All these buffs work on spiderlings as well.
Her third ability Incapacitating Bite is a passive orb skill that places a debuff on enemies when you auto-attack. At Level 4, the enemies will have a 25% chance to miss, 40% slow move speed as well as adding 8 damage. All this lasts for 2 seconds unless you reapply the debuff. One very important thing to note is that the 25% chance to miss stacks with other evasion and dodge items.
Broodmother’s ultimate is named Insatiable Hunger and it is an absolutely beastly ultimate that at Level 3 will allow Broodmother to deal +100 bonus damage as well as add 80% life-steal for a 40-second period. This is another ability that stacks, this time with life-steal items.
Unlike other agility heroes, Broodmother starts to make her impact in the game from the very first minute. Her webs make it extremely easy for her to harass her enemies, while the regeneration granted by the webs save her the trips to the fountain and therefore allow her to stay in lane for a really long time. Her spiderlings help her in both farming as well as harassing, though they need to be used carefully as they require quite a bit of mana, something that players will consider boosting while playing Broodmother. Her ultimate makes her a formidable force to be reckoned with. While farming is an important part of the game, Broodmother can get to a bigger pile of gold faster by occasionally leaving her lane to gank on enemy heroes in other lanes.
