Dota 2 Heroes – An Introduction to Razzil Darkbrew the Alchemist

Razzil Darkbrew the Alchemist is amongst the most beefy heroes in Defense of the Ancients (Dota) 2. His ability to farm is unmatched for his class as well, which makes it possible for him to increase his survivability even more.

His first skill Acid Spray is an Area of Effect ability that covers 625 units of space for a 16-second period. It will do 32 damage per second and reduce armour by 6 to anyone caught within the radius. The damage type is mixed, so it will hit magic immune targets.

His second ability Unstable Concoction is a single-target skill that is used to the opponent. There are a lot of specifics with this spell. When you activate this spell, you have the option of how long you wish to wait. If you wait 5 seconds for example, you will deal 300 damage with a 4-second stun to the target. If you wish to wait for a shorter amount of time, it will deal the same amount of damage but stun the target for a lower duration. Keep in mind that this is not a channelling skill, therefore once activated; you will be able to run around freely. Also keep in mind that if you wait for more than 7 seconds, you will stun yourself, so be careful.

His third skill Goblin’s Greed is what makes Alchemist, well, an alchemist. This is a passive ability that will give you a static 8 bonus gold for every creep or hero that you kill in a 20-second period. Each additional kill you get while the buff is active will earn you an extra 2 bonus gold on top of that. This stacks all the way up to 18 gold overall.

Now let us talk about Alchemist’s ultimate Chemical Rage, which turns Alchemist into an absolute beast. When activated, you will be granted a ton of stats. You will gain 900 bonus health, 60 hp regeneration, 12 mana regeneration, plus 60 move speed and last will grant you a 1.15 base attack time. This all lasts 25 seconds with only a 45-second cool-down.

Alchemist is a perfect example of what a tank should be like. He has an ability to absorb huge amounts of damage and still manage to stay alive to tell the tale. Two of his abilities, Acid Spray and Unstable Concoction, enhance his support capability. For some reason, Alchemist is not the most popular heroes in the game despite his huge potential to keep the odds of team-battles in the favour of his team by staying in the frontline and taking damage. He is indeed a huge asset for the team and his presence in the battlefield is hard to ignore.
