Karroch the Beastmaster is a melee strength hero who is most often picked up as a solo hero and is really powerful because of his ability to scout and initiate throughout the game.
His abilities really shine when they are used with an ally nearby as he alone will have a tough time taking down an enemy. If you fancy yourself as a loner and want to take care of business yourself, then it would be best to go for a carry build.
Wild Axes is Beastmaster’s first skill. He hurts 2 axes up to a range to 1300 units which eventually intersect and then return to him. Each axe deals 180 damage and can only damage a unit once. So the maximum amount of damage you can do to a target is 360. Please keep in mind that the axes will destroy trees on contact, allowing for better initiation or getaway. Also the damage dealt is mixed damage, which means it will be reduced by both physical armour as well as magical armour. However, it will go through magic immunity.
Karroch’s second ability is named Call of the Wild. When activated, it will summon a hawk and a boar, both of which will be under your control. The hawk lasts for 80 seconds and is able to travel over any terrain while giving vision. After 5 seconds of idle time, the hawk becomes invisible. The boar, on the other hand, is your trusted side-kick and will slow the movement speed of enemies by 35%, which is handy for chasing purposes. The boar’s attacks will also slow down the attack speed of enemies it attacks by 35%. The debuff lasts for 3 seconds while the boar himself lasts 90 seconds.
Inner Beast is Beastmaster’s third skill. It is a passive ability that will increase allies’ speed by 40% as long as they are within a 1000 Area of Effect (AoE) of him. Although a boring spell, it’s uses should be quite apparent and especially with taking late game into account.
Karroch’s ultimate is named Primal Roar. It is a power initiation tool. When cast upon an enemy, you will release a deafening roar which will deal 300 damage and stun the initial target for 4 seconds. Other enemies within a 225 AoE of this roar will take side damage amounting to 300, as well as have their movement speed reduced by 50% for 4 seconds. As if it was not useful enough, Primal Roar’s stun aspect will go through magic immunity, though the damage and slow would not.
Aghanim’s Scepter can be picked up by Beastmaster as it will increase the casting range of his ultimate from 600 to 950, as well as lower the cool-down from 70 seconds to 45 seconds.
