It seems that the industry is closing in on both the release date and the price of the Wii U as a number of sources all seem to point towards November and a price range of $249.99 to $349.99.

There may not be as much excitement surrounding the release of the Nintendo Wii U as compared to that which led up to the release of its predecessor, the Nintendo Wii, yet one can sense that almost every gamer, casual or hardcore, is keeping an eye on any developments surrounding the console.

For gamers there are two factors that will decide whether or not the Wii U will be a success and those the content available and the price at which the various SKUs (Stock Keeping Units) will be kept.

For Nintendo however, the key will be giving the console enough of a head start to capture enough of the market before the Xbox 720 and PlayStation 4 are released, as well as the price at which they decide to offer the console.

So it is no surprise that the two points everyone in the industry seems to keen on finding out are the release date and the pricing points of the Nintendo Wii U. Rumours have been rife since the console was announced at E3 in 2011, however, there has been little to no confirmation from the manufacturers side, resulting in insane amounts of speculation.

However, nearly every rumour and report has the console pegged to a release in 2012, although the exact date has been a debatable matter. Certain sources have indicated a December release date for the console yet the latest reports seem to have placed the console right at the heart of the holiday season.

Gamers in the United States of America will be seeing Wii Us on shelves on the 11th of November, that is, if the latest line of reports are to be believed. According to the same sources there will be three different models of the console that gamers can purchase, although Nintendo are to comment on that specifically.

The basic Wii U model will cost gamers $249.99, with a mid-level console priced at $299.99 and lastly, the fully loaded version will set gamers back $349.99.

It should be noted that the news should be taken with a touch of salt as Nintendo has not officially confirmed anything. However, if the reports are to be believed then gamers can expect the Nintendo Wii U to be out by the end of the year and at the same price as the current generation consoles, which could prove to be a major plus.
