Rayman Jungle Run is the latest offering by publisher and developer Ubisoft for Apple devices and anyone who has played Canabalt will see similarities between the two games.
However, Jungle Run is far from a rip-off of the other title, as it simply falls in the game genre. The gameplay is varied, the setting different and the environments are much, much richer and vibrant than other games which fall in the same bracket. In essence, it’s a triple-A title for its genre.
The game has been developed by Ubisoft for both iOS and Android devices and is set for release on the 20th of September. Trailers for the game have been released and we recommend readers check them out to get a better idea of what the title has to offer.
For those just want a brief summary, have no fear. The game will see Rayman running through various levels with players not able to stop him at any point. Instead they have to tap the screen if they want him to jump or hold it if they want him to hover for a bit.
The game is set for release after the announcement of the iPhone 5, which takes place tomorrow. However, whether or not the game will appear on the next generation phone remains to be seen, although one can safely assume that it will, along with the other current generation iPhone titles.
It will be interesting to see what the next iPhone has in store for gamers as the screen is rumoured to be bigger than the iPhone and the process much more powerful as well. Combine both together and the potential for gaming increases.
However, whether gamers will continue to receive casual games such as Rayman, Cut the Rope, Angry Birds and Doodle Jump or more core titles such as Max Payne, Dead Space and Zombies remains to be seen.

It is an interesting time to be a gamer with so many changes taking place in the way games are being played and how innovations are changing the way they will be played in the future.
