Sony offers discounts on Tokyo Jungle and Hell! Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit on PlayStation Plus as well. Also, we should mention that only Starhawk’s single-player campaign and the add-ons are free, not the multiplayer action.
The US blog for PlayStation recently updated itself with three new offers for subscribers to the premium subscription service, PlayStation Plus and the offer itself has now gone live.
All PlayStation Plus subscribers can download the single-player campaign for Starhawk free of any cost, bar the charges for the internet service, which is pretty obvious. The game is the sequel to the launch day title, Warhawk.
Warhawk was released to demonstrate the PlayStation 3’s ability to cater to the multiplayer demanding audience as no other title of the same genre was on offer. The game went on to become a cult hit and garnered quite a following for itself. Although it was far from perfect, the ability to use vehicles drew many a gamer to the title.
When Sony announced the sequel there was a sense of mixed emotions. One could say there was an element of caution thrown in with a fair deal of excitement from the fans of the series as they wondered whether Starhawk would build on its predecessor or be a new game completely forgetting its roots.
It came as a relief when the developers built a solid multiplayer component that helped take the series a step forward. However, there were a number of gamers who may not have given the shooter a go and Sony is looking to reduce that number.
Starhawk’s single-player campaign is free to download and play via the PlayStation Store as long as the user has an active PlayStation Plus subscription. Using the service will allow him or her to download the single-player campaign and give it a go. Sony will be hoping that those who enjoy the experience will go on to purchase the multiplayer component as well, which by the way, is not free, but Plus subscribers do get a discount.
