We take a look at some of the game set to hit the PlayStation 3 console this week as well as a new PlayStation 2 which was hidden in the back of the PlayStation Network cupboard.
The games set to release for Sony’s console may not be the huge titles everyone is hoping for, such as Assassin’s Creed 3 or The Last of Us, but they do bring some pedigree of their own and will surely entice a considerable number of gamers.
Starting things off with Legends, 007 Legends, as Daniel Craig’s digital version is plastered across the cover of the upcoming Bond game.
The Doom 3 BFG Edition “features DOOM 3 and the Resurrection of Evil add-on pack, both of which have been completely re-mastered. The Package also includes hours of ne content – seven new levels entitled “The Lost Mission”.”
The BFG edition will be available both in retail stores as well as the PlayStation Store for players to download and play directly on their consoles.
Sony went on to hype the game up. “This genre defining game and its expansion pack offers greatly enhanced graphics, deeply immersing the player in the demonic world of this terrifying horror masterpiece.”
The extra missions do sound enticing and will surely be something that every Doom fan is after. Whether or not the pull of Doom is what it was all those years ago remains to be seen.
The other PlayStation 3 title on offer is 007 Legends, which is described, or rather marketed by Sony as a game which both “Gamers and Bond aficionados alike will become James Bond, reliving the world-famous spy’s most iconic and intense undercover missions from throughout the entire Bond film franchise.”
The game also includes missions from the latest Bond movie, Skyfall. Gamers who wish to purchase the game can do so from retail stores as well as the PlayStation Network, where they will find it under New Releases in the PlayStation Store.
At the same time, Sony is also set to release another PlayStation 2 Classic via the PlayStation Store. The magical land behind the wardrobe awaits as The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe is set for release on the digital front.
The game is rated Teen and will be available during the course of this week.
Sony also announced an eagerly anticipated PlayStation Vita title as well, as well as a number of other games.
