Sony has announced their Black Friday deals for the PlayStation Vita with the Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation, Call of Duty: Black Ops: Declassified and Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes Bundle all for $199.99 each.
The festive season is nearly upon us and for some of us its all about family, love and sharing while the majority have the Black Friday sales set firmly in their sights and for gamers, the occasion which holds extreme importance.
With games and more importantly gaming consoles and systems set to have their prices slashed, its the perfect opportunity for many to finally that one game or games, or console that was always just outside their price range. Everyone’s been through that stage at some point in their life.
Sony is also getting into the festive spirit by announcing a 20% discount on each of its PlayStation Vita bundles for Black Friday.
The news of the offer broke on the Official PlayStation Blog, which began:
“PS Vita’s game library is growing rapidly, and some of the biggest franchises in gaming are launching on the platform this holiday.”
The two biggest releases for the Vita this holiday season were Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation and Black Ops: Declassified.
The statement continued:
“In addition to the PlayStation Plus announcement providing an instant game collection for PS Vita, we are also celebrating the holidays with several incredible deals. The Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation, Call of Duty Black Ops: Declassified, and Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes PS Vita bundles will be available for $199.99 (MSRP)* on Black Friday and Saturday only.”
Both the Black Ops 2 and Lego Batman 2 Vita bundles come with a Crystal Black console. The Vita itself is Wi-Fi only with no deal on offer for the 3G model. At the same time the Black Ops bundle comes with a copy of Declassified as well as a 4GB memory card while the latter only comes with Lego Batman 2 and no memory card as part of the package.
However, for those looking for something different, the Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation bundle comes with a Limited Edition Crystal White console, also Wi-Fi only. Apart from the console and the game it also comes with a 4GB memory card.
Many feel that this is the appropriate price to sell the console and demand will surely increase. The Vita has not been selling as well as expected, a point acknowledge by analysts and Sony executives alike, but this sale could see a turning point on that front. Whether or not it works out well for Sony remains to be seen.
The sale is only for Friday and Saturday, which makes it a limited time offer.
