Microsoft has released the LIVE Activity charts for the week ended November 19 and it seems Master Chief’s return is not enough to warrant a ‘most played game’ finish on its own console.

The activity charts show which game Xbox LIVE players have been playing and it is interesting to see a number of old titles mixing things up with the return of an icon and another Call of Duty game.

There is no denying the fact that North America belongs to the Xbox 360. At the same time there is no denying that the Halo and Call of Duty series are both two of the biggest franchises on the console. While the former may be an exclusive, Activision always seemed to have made the Xbox 360 a priority and the move seems to have paid off.

According to the latest charts the most played game on LIVE for the week ended November 19th was none other than Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, which really has not come as much as a surprise to many.

In second place is Halo 4 and it seems that the series return after a considerable absence was not enough to anoint it the most played title on the console despite being an exclusive to the Xbox 360. It seems that the present future and zombies are more interesting for many.

In third place is Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition, which has players building, running, gathering and creating an endless line of YouTube videos, not that anyone is complaining.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is also garnering quite a bit of attention for itself as well despite its younger cousin making its debut.

Interestingly enough it seems that football remains popular on the console with EA Sports FIFA Soccer 13 earning the title of ‘the fifth most played Xbox title for the week’. Not bad considering the fact that Madden NFL 13 is in tenth place.

Another minor surprise for some as Call of Duty: Black Ops ends the week in sixth place on the charts, beating out Assassin’s Creed 3 in the process. The latest Assassin’s Creed game sees a change in setting, protagonist and engine among a host of other things as well. Yet for Black Ops to still be played even with the release of Black Ops 2 is quite impressive.

In eight place is NBA 2K13 and emphasizing on the fact that the Xbox 360 remains the home of the Call of Duty series is the fact the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 finishes in ninth spot.

That’s it for this week’s look at the most played titles chart for Xbox LIVE and one can expect the top two to remain in their places for many weeks to come.
