IGN And Capcom's Party Celebrating The Launch Of Resident Evil 6

Resident Evil 6 is all set to become even more exciting for Xbox 360 owners as the first major downloadable content (DLC) for the survival horror third-person shooter is on its way.

Capcom is releasing the first post-launch DLC for the latest title in the Resident Evil series on December 18, which will exclusive to the Microsoft console for now, while there is no telling if and when the new content will hit the PlayStation Network.

The recently confirmed DLC will add three new modes to Resident Evil 6, namely Predator, Survivor and Onslaught.

Each mode has its own particular setting, though they all share one thing in common: a heavy dose of thrill.

Predator will support a minimum of two and maximum of six players. One of the players will take on the role of the Ustanak, a familiar face for those who played through Jake Muller’s campaign. The fearsome B.O.W. will be tasked with hunting down the human players before the session ends. The human players, on the other hand, will have the task of getting Ustanak before he gets them, or surviving until the session ends.

While the odds may come off as a bit odd, since there can be as many as five human players against one Ustanak, something tells us that it would not exactly be a walk in the park.

Survivor is a mode that also supports up to six players. The solo or team-versus mode will have players respawning as zombies once they die. However, the can return to their human form if they are able to take down a human character. The last man or team standing takes the win.

The mode will require teams to work close together as losing a single member would put them at unfavourable odds. The opportunity to resurrect in human form will keep the action just as exciting and intense even after a player ends up succumbing to the horror that it persistently chasing it.

Onslaught is designed for two players to go head-to-head while attempting to clear waves of enemies. The key to victory in this mode lies in chaining combos, which will send zombies over to the opponent’s screen. The more zombies on the screen, the harder it would get to survive.

Xbox 360 owners will be able to either purchase each mode for 320 Microsoft Points ($4) separately, or get their hands on three modes as a bundle for 720 Microsoft Points ($9).

The upcoming DLC is a must for gamers who enjoyed Capcom’s zombie shooter, while it is also recommended to the fans of the series who failed to find the latest offering as fulfilling as they had expected it to be.
