A revamped version of the fourth title in the popular role-playing game (RPG) series hits iTunes for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

Square Enix has brought its renowned role-playing game Final Fantasy IV, with the game becoming available on iTunes store today for $16.

The game comes with compatibility for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.

Square Enix has made several improvements to the iOS version of the Final Fantasy game, adding a number of new features to enhance the experience and make it even more enticing.

Unlike the original Final Fantasy IV that released for the Super Famicom in Japan in 1991, the new release will feature voice acting for event scenes. Spoken dialogues have become a norm in series since the arrival of Final Fantasy X for the PlayStation 2.

With key events in the iOS port of Final Fantasy IV featuring voice acting in key events, the recent fans of the franchise will definitely feel right at home.

Aside from voice acting, Square Enix has also made significant improvements to the graphics. The new and improved 3D graphics and revamped events is sure to make the game look like it was born in the current era instead of being over two decades old.

Support for Game Center has also been added to the iOS version of Final Fantasy IV. Players will now have plenty of achievements to be earned and will also be able to track and compare progress against friends.

Square Enix has made some alterations to the game’s difficulty level with the intention of improving playability on the iOS platform.

For all those who are wondering if the new release of Final Fantasy IV will work on their iPhone 5, they can relax as the game is compatible with the latest iPhone.

The advent of smartphones and tablets has resulted in a surge in casual gamers, making them a promising target market.

Many of the gaming industry’s top publishers and developers have already began to allocate a significant amount of resources to cater to this particular faction of gamers, who are looking for a fun way to kill time.

Pleasing these gamers is not as demanding as the console and hardcore gamers and thus the development of games for the smartphones and tablets hardly takes as much effort or uses as much resources as taken by even the most simplest of games for the consoles of PC.

Final Fantasy IV is not Square Enix’s first franchise to make an entry into the mobile space. It launched Theatrhythm Final Fantasy on iTunes last week. The game itself was free to download, but had 10 expansion packs available, with price tags in the range of $1-3 on them.
