Syphon Filter, Crash Bandicoot and Resident Evil, among others, could be the saviours of to the rescue for Sony’s PlayStation Vita console.

There is no doubting the fact that the PlayStation Vita is an impressive piece of technology. The console has received praise for what can be accomplished on the device yet there is one criticism that has plagued the Vita over the course of the past few months and that is the lack of games on the console.

Sony seem to emphasize of quality over quantity with a number of solid titles available for the console. The likes of WipEout 2048, Super Stardust Delta and Asphalt Injection are some of the titles that feel right at home on the console while Uncharted: Golden Abyss, FIFA and Mortal Kombat are simply sublime.

However, there are only a handful of other titles that will have players wanting to use the Vita. Escape Plan, Gravity Rush and Sound Shapes being those titles. Apart from that there really isn’t anything the console has to offer in terms of unique gaming experiences.

That it until Sony decided to release every memorable PlayStation One console title on the Vita, turning it into a haven for anyone looking to play their favourite classics while on the move.

Syphon Filter, Syphon Filter 3, Resident Evil: Director’s Cut and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis are just a few of the games available to download and play on the Vita. throw in Medieval, Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3, Twisted Metal and pretty much any other game you can remember, and the Vita now has the capability to play it.

It’s a dream come true for anyone who wanted to have the sh*t scared out of them, as they can now do literally! All they have to do is play it on the toilet, in the dark with the volume turned up all the way.

Apart from PS One classics, a number of PlayStation Portable games have also been ported for the Vita. The two God of War games are now available for download and play on the console as is Gran Turismo Portable, which divided GT fans as to whether or not it was a real Gran Turismo game or not.

All in all, in terms of content, the Vita now has plenty to offer, however, it’s success will be defined by the unique experiences it offers and not recycled classics. That being said, players now have a library of games to get them through the times between the releases of the Vita exclusive games.
