The game’s developer, Arkane Studios, has announced that gamers can complete their upcoming game in around 12-14 hours
It seems that Bethesda has a habit of announcing how quickly their games can be finished and it turns out that instead of having the developers run through the game at a blistering pace, the developer, Arkane Studios, has simply announced that the game can be completed in just over half a day by the average gamer.
The creative directors of the upcoming game are Harvey Smith and Raphael Colantonio, both of whom took some time out to talk about the game on Bethesda’s official blog with most of the chatter being about how long the game would be.
The response was: “very direct players will probably get through the game in 12 or 14 hours.”
However, the more adventurous players as well as completionists would take more than twice the time to end the game. They said, “explorers who eavesdrop a lot will take twice as long (to complete Dishonored).”
At the same time, for those gamers who like collecting items and hoarding there would be extra incentive to play the game a second or third time as the developers also teased that there would be a number of items that players can find to give them extra powers. However, in order to get those items, players would have to play through the game multiple times.
The post read, “plus there are 40 bone charms in the game that grant small supernatural perks. But no one can have all of these things in one playthrough.”
Another factor to consider was that gamers would not find all of their health would regenerate by itself to use spells and powers yet it would need replenishing to reach the maximum limit and this would also increase the life span of the player’s playthrough of the game.
The game has garnered a fair amount of interest in the gaming world as the new IP from Bethesda managed to captivate gamers with its grim post-apocalyptic, disease ridden tone in a game that seems a mix of BioShock, Fallout and Assassin’s Creed, yet still manages to have an identity of its own.
So 12-14 hours is how long Dishonored will last on a single-minded run though, however, one must not be surprised if one of the developers finishes the game within an hour or so as is tradition with titles such as The Elder Scrolls (both Oblivion and Skyrim) as well as the Fallout series.
The latest trailer for the game shows off a number of various gameplay elements that gamers can encounter as well as the game’s grim outlook as a plague has torn the world apart.
