A ranged intelligence hero in nature, Lina the Slayer is not afraid to play with fire or manipulate lightning. Once you get over the fact that she is extremely hot, no pun intended, you will be blown away by the sheer amount of damage she is capable of dealing in a matter of seconds.
Lina is a burst-damage hero that is extremely versatile in the laning phase, being able to be a part of a tri or dual lane, as well as a solo mid.
Lina’s Dragon Slave spell is very similar to Death Prophet’s Crypt Swarm skill. When used, Lina will create a cone-shaped wave of fire that will damage enemies up to 1225 units away for 280 damage. Having a cool-down of 8.5 seconds allows her to spam this, depending of course on her mana regeneration.
Lina uses her second skill, Light Strike Array, as a pre-cursor to Dragon Slave. Light Strike Array is an area-based skill that would also damage enemies for 280 within a 225 Area of Effect (AoE). Units effected by this will also be stunned for 1.6 seconds, allowing her to effectively combo her other skills. This ability has a 7-second cool-down.
Fiery Soul is Lina’s passive ability that will buff her whenever she uses one of her skills. Each time she casts an ability, she will gain 60 percent increased attack speed and 6 percent movement speed. This buff will last for 7 seconds and is stackable for up to 3 times, meaning she can potentially gain 180 percent increased attack speed as well as 18 percent increased movement speed if used efficiently.
Her ultimate Laguna Blade is one of the most damage single-target skills in the entire game. When used on enemy, the skill will instantly deal 950 damage to them at its highest level. Aghanim’s Scepter is able to be picked up by Lina, which will increase the range of the ultimate from 600 units to 900 units and will increase the damage dealt by the skill from 950 to a whooping 1250.
For fun’s sake, let us do some math. Ignoring magic armour as well as auto-attacks, if you combo her first two skills with her Aghanim’s Scepter version of Laguna Blade, she will deal 1810 damage. That is A LOT of damage!
Lina is indeed a femme fatale who does well to establish the fact that women indeed can kick ass. With fiery and devastating spells at her disposal, she never fails to make an impact during battles. Equipping her with a Dagger serves to make her an excellent initiator, though it can additionally serve a defensive purpose of allowing her to make a perfect escape when the odds are against her. After all, she is a woman and while she is quite capable of taking care of herself, at the end of the day she is still a fragile damsel.
