Dota 2 Heroes – An introduction to Traxex the Drow Ranger

Traxex the Drow Ranger is a pretty-much right-click agility hard carry ranged-hero who suffers from being extremely frail, but pretty much makes up for it through her skills. She can kite like none other, not only because of her skills but also because her auto-attack range is 625.

Her first skill Frost Arrows is a toggle ability that will apply freezing effect to your auto-attacks. At Level 4, the Frost Arrows will reduce the movement speed by 50% for 1.5 second on heroes and 7 seconds on creeps. A couple of things to take note of here is the fact that the effect does count as orb effect and also that the slow does not stack.  When you hit a target multiple times with this skill, it just keeps on reapplying the 1.5-second negative buff.

Drow Ranger’s second ability is named Silence and it is a generic 275 Area of Effect (AoE) silence ability. At Level 4, enemies caught within range will be silenced for 6 seconds which, by the way, includes permanent invisibility. (Watch out Rikimaru!)

Her third skill Trueshot Aura is a passive aura that will give Drow Ranger along with any ranged ally within a 900 AoE increased base damage. For specifics, at Level 4 all ranged heroes will have their base damage increased by 28%. As always, the increase is for base damage and primary attributes bonus only.

Drow Ranger’s ultimate is named Marksmanship and is a passive ability that, at its highest level, will give 45 agility. This appears to be a very simple ultimate, but when you do the math, it turns out to be actually quite powerful on Drow Ranger. This will passively give Drow 6.4 physical armour, increase her attack speed by 45 and of course being an agility hero herself, she will gain 45 damage as well.

While playing as Drow Ranger, it is extremely important to keep in mind that you will not be able to withstand incoming damage for too long due to being extremely fragile. The insanely-high agility is something that will help you in farming items that may help in curbing the issue pertaining to the frailness of Drow Ranger. One of the most popular items among players is Lothar’s Edge, an item that boosts strength, agility and also gives an active ability to wind-walk. As you can imagine the usefulness of this item, it is best to rush it. Once the ability to wind-walk is acquired, farming for other items will not be much of a problem. Drow Ranger will also be able to start scouting the enemy jungle to surprise opponents. The high amount of agility and Frost Arrow skill will make it really easy for her to take the target down, though the tide may turn if enemy back-up arrives, in which case it is best to activate wind-walk and walk away from the scene.
