United Kingdom: the weekly software sales charts are in and the combined might of Resident Evil 6’s Leon Kennedy, Chris Redfield and Jake Muller could not knock the king of football simulation off the number one spot.

There nothing sleepy about the dogs at number 10 in the charts as Square Enix’s Sleeping Dogs is doing what the triads are so good at doing and managing to extort money from gamers, albeit while still giving players a certain level of satisfaction in the end.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 finds itself struggling in front of goal, that is selling copies, as the game only managed a ninth place finish, whether or not it will qualify for Europe remains to be seen although the manager and many pundits insist that the performances are there but it just doesn’t seem to get the result at the end of the day.

Vampires and werewolves have resurrected the gaming world’s interest in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which ended the week in eight place. The game has already won more awards than Real Madrid have won league titles and it continues to keep itself going strong on the sales front.

Rocksmith is Ubisoft’s latest entry into the rhythm game genre and it seems to be rocking hard and rolling faster than the publisher would have liked as it ends up at number seven in the countdown.

Whether or not the game has any swag is irrelevant but Take-Two will be pleased to see that there is a market for basketball games in the United Kingdom as NBA 2K13 debuts in at number six.

Shifting down a gear but still in a position to end up with podium finish is Codemasters’ F1 2012, as the racing simulator has been praised as being the most authentic Formula One experience to date. Mind you that’s from people who have never sat in a F1 car, but still, it has to count for something.

Just Dance 4 does what the title suggests and has a number of the United Kingdom’s households making utter fools of themselves while attempting to move it to the beat. Just don’t tell them and keep a video recorder ready at all times.

Borderlands 2 kicks off the top three spots in the charts as it lost its previous week’s runners up spot to none other than Resident Evil 6. The latter has split gamers right down the middle as to whether they like it or not and it will be interesting to see if fans warm to it later on.

Topping the charts for yet another week is the current king of football simulation titles, FIFA 13, and the game continues its impressive run despite a few problems on the pitch with the management working on getting some issues with the servers in order.

That about wraps it, more chart news week…
