The PlayStation Blog recently held a poll for gamers to choose their pick of titles in various categories and Guerrilla Games entry seems to have generated the most hype.
The PlayStation Vita has not lived up to the expectations many had for the portable console on the sales front. In fact, the Vita is often found below the PlayStation Portable when it comes to the weekly sales charts in Japan.
Analysts and experts believe that a price cut, similar to that of the Nintendo 3DS, would be the key to boost the Vita’s sales. However, Sony is of the opinion that the sales will pick up with new titles. The charts do show that Sony has a point with sales for the console picking up every time a triple-A title is released for the Vita, however, the numbers settle back down much sooner than Sony would have liked.
The Vita has a number of titles in the pipeline and gamers were asked to vote for which of those titles they were the most excited for. As it turns out, it just so happened that a certain Guerrilla Games developed title topped the list.
Killzone Mercenary is the latest instalment in the series, which has seen three core entries and one release on the PlayStation Portable as well with Killzone: Liberation.
The upcoming title was voted the PlayStation Vita’s Most Anticipated Game and Sony will be hoping the game lives up to the hype.
Soul Sacrifice is another eagerly anticipated game and it managed to unlock the Gold Trophy. The game is based around a new gameplay dynamic where players will have to sacrifice items and body parts in order to attain certain powers. The game boasts up to four player co-op and has captured the attention of many a gamer.
A PlayStation icon came in third with the Silver Trophy as Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time is set to hit the Vita next year.
Coming in with the Bronze trophy is Media Molecule’s upcoming title, which is being developed exclusively for the Vita, Tearaway. The game seems to be just as imaginative and charming as the LittleBigPlanet titles and if Tearaway manages to be half as good then the Vita may just have a hit on its hands.
But what about you, the readers; which game is your most anticipated title for 2013? Is it a PlayStation Vita title or a PlayStation 3 game or maybe even a PC, Xbox 360 or multiplatform game? Let us know what you are looking forward to the most in the comments section below.
