The roster for the latest party game from Sony for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita is set to get both Gravity Rush’s Kat while Oddworld’s Abe is being considered.

Sony is aiming to target the ‘neglected’ family and party gaming genre with its upcoming title, PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, which one can liken to the company’s version of Super Mario Smash Bros.

The game already has an impressive lineup of characters from the PlayStation brand, including the likes of BioShock’s Big Daddy, Metal Gear Solid’s Raiden and Uncharted’s Nathan Drake.

That is not all as Killzone’s Colonel Radec, Twisted Metal’s Sweet Tooth and God of War’s Kratos are also among the many characters in the game. Gamers will also be pleased to see Papo & Yo, Fat Princess and Sly Cooper, as well as Cole from the InFamous games.

However, reports have indicated that the latest character to make her way into the game will be Gravity Rush’s Kat. New to the PlayStation brand, the character is the main protagonist in the PlayStation Vita game, Gravity Rush.

The game received positive reviews and provides a unique experience on the console as the player is able to manipulate gravity thanks to a magical cat.

The news surrounding Kat’s inclusion follows what is being termed as another leak. A screenshot of the characters appearance in the game showed up online before it disappeared soon after. Sony has not confirmed or denied the possibility but it would be advised that gamers take the news with a bit of caution, as nothing is official until its official.

On the other hand, Abe, from the PlayStation One title, Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee, may also feature in the game if the developers take note of the request made by Stewart Gilray.

According to him, the idea of the character’s inclusion in the game has been pitched but there has been no response.

“I was over at Sony America and they were definitely up for it, but the developer hasn’t gotten back to us.” Before continuing, “We’ve been trying to get in touch with them since May and can’t work out if they’ve fixed their character line-up for the release version or if they’re simply not interested?!”

However, if Abe does not make the release version of the game, the developer admitted that released Abe as part of a DLC pack would be a possibility as well.

“We’d love to get him in the game. We’ve already been talking about the moves he could have like possessing Kratos and beating the sh*t out of everyone… I guess they’re bust and we’re busy.”

The idea sounds interesting but it seems that the ball is in Sony America’s court and that they will decide whether or not they want to go ahead with the idea.
