Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Gravity Rush and WipEout 2048 free for PlayStation Plus subscribers as the service hits the Vita with the latest update.
The PlayStation Plus is Sony’s premium subscription service for the PlayStation Network members and so far it has been hailed by those who have its service, mostly because of the constant supply of free games.
However, so far it has only been restricted to the PlayStation 3 but the latest PlayStation Vita firmware update is set to change that. Firmware v2.00 is set to bring the premium subscription service to the Vita and with it a bunch of exclusive offers and content.
Starting things off on the free games front and Uncharted: Golden Abyss is available for, you guessed it, free.
The game’s description reads: “Uncover the dark secret behind the 400-year-old massacre of a Spanish expedition and follow the murderous trail of an ancient and secret Spanish sect.”
Golden Abyss also features the voice of Nolan North, the same voice actor who lends his voice to Nathan Drake in the console versions of the game.
The second free game is also one that has been hailed by fans and critics alike with Gravity Rush.
“Gain a new perspective as you take on the role of Kat, a strong-willed girl seeking the means to protect her future in a world that’s crumbling to pieces.” Oh, and players can alter gravity as well, which many agree is the game’s best feature.
For racing fans there is WipEout 2048 on offer as well. The game boasts both front and rear touch control as well as use of the six-axis motion sensors and features online multiplayer as well. Not only that but the game also allows Vita users to race against those who have WipEout on the PlayStation 3 as well.
Three other free titles include, Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack, Jet Set Radio and Final Fantasy Tactics. The latter is available for the PlayStation Vita as well.
Moving on to what is on offer for the PlayStation 3 and there are two games for PlayStation Plus subscribers to choose from, or rather download at will.
The first is Dungeon Defenders with combines “an addictive blend of Tower defense and cooperative online Action-RPG.”
The second title is the Sonic Bundle, which combines both the first and the second games in the iconic series.
At the same time, Plus Subscribers now have an 80% discount on Music Unlimited and can subscribe to a 12-month access for just $12.
That’s it for this week’s round up of everything PlayStation Plus so what will you be downloading when the update goes live? Let us know in the comments section below.
