PlayStation Plus subscribers get an extra discount on select horror titles as well, including the likes of Black Ops 2 zombie DLCs, Dead Space 2 and Resident Evil among the titles on offer as part of the promotion.
Halloween is the perfect time for kids and adults alike to discard their usual norms of dressing, which have been enforced by society, and dress up however they like, usually to some hilarious results. At the same time it’s a great time of year to do business as well with costumes, decorations and party items all selling like hot cakes with a warm cup of tea, or coffee, on a chilly winter’s afternoon.
Video games are no different, as many gamers prefer to try out some of the more horror themed games as well and Sony seems to want to take advantage of that, as the medium is slowly but surely becoming the number one choice of entertainment for many.
The PlayStation Network Halloween sales sees a number of games getting the slasher movie treatment with PlayStation Plus members getting the sweeter end of the deal as well.
Dead Space 2 will be available to regular PSN users for $13.99 while PlayStation Plus subscribers can have the same game for under $10 ($9.79).
The same is the case with every other title on offer on the Halloween sale. Zombies have become trendy and all four Black Ops zombie based DLCs are now on offer at discount prices, although only the Rezurrection Pack has a special offer for Plus subscribers.
First Strike, Escalation and Annihilation are all on offer at $10.49, with no extra price cut for PlayStation Plus subscribers. However, the Rezurrection Pack can be availed at the extra discounted price of $7.34 for Plus subscribers.
Dead Rising 2: Off the Record, the expansion pack based on the ‘what if Frank West was in Fortune City’ scenario is also a part of the sale. Priced at $13.99 on the PSN and $9.79 on PlayStation Plus, the horror-comedy action adventure offers a unique gameplay experience.
Plants vs. Zombies is on sale as well, with the PlayStation Vita version available for $7.34 for Plus Subscribers with standard users able to get the same game for $10.49. the PlayStation 3 version of the game is available at the same price, with no special offer for PlayStation Plus subscribers.
The House of the Dead bundle has also seen prices drop like the dead who have just had a bullet put through their skull. The bundle is discounted at $21.99 with Plus users able to get it for $15.39.
At the same time, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is on being offered for $34.99 and $24.49 respectively
Other titles on offer include Dead Nation, AMY and InFamous Festival of Blood, as well as a few less-known games as well.
