PlayStation Vita Launch

Sony has released the list of PS One Classics that Vita owners can now purchase and play on their handheld consoles as soon as they update their firmware to the latest version and there are quite a few of them.

Sony had earlier announced that it was working on bringing a number of their best titles from the PlayStation One onto the PlayStation Vita, as they looked to provide more content for the console.

As it turns out Sony has not been stingy about the number of games it is offering well over a hundred titles to Vita owners and it’s not just quantity it is releasing either as a number of the PlayStation brand’s best-known titles are on offer.

Crash Bandicoot was an icon for the PlayStation One and it turns out that he will be making his way on to the PlayStation Vita as well with Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back and Crash Bandicoot 3 Warped all available for download. In addition CTR: Crash Team Racing is also on offer as well.

MediEvil was also a popular title back in its day and a new generation of gamers or those wanting to experience some nostalgia may do so as well with the game among the list of titles.

Syphon Filter and Syphon Filter 3 are also on offer as Gabe Logan and Lian Xing fight to prevent the end of the world.

The original Twisted Metal is also on the list as is WipEout and A Bug’s Life. Sticking to originals, Driver will also be available for purchase although gamers need to be reminded that this game was the one in which players could not exit their vehicles.

Fighting Force and Fighting Force 2 are on the list as are a host of Final Fantasy games, in fact, all the FF titles from V to IX are now on offer.

Sticking to console firsts, Metal Gear Solid is another title gamers can play on the Vita, which is great for all of those who could not find it on the latest Metal Gear Solid Collection on offer.

Rainbow Six and Rayman join Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis and Resident Evil: Director’s Cut. Moving from one survival horror series to another, the original Silent Hill is also now playable on the Vita are Tekken and Tekken 2.

No list would be complete without a bunch of Tomb Raider games and the first three games in the series as well as Chronicles and The Last Revelation are Vita approved as well as another cult classic, Urban Chaos.

It should be noted that these are just a few of the games that have been ported to the Vita and one has to wonder whether any PlayStation 2 titles will make their way on to the Vita in the near future or not…
