GameStop offering exclusive pre-order deal as all five episodes of The Walking Dead video game from Telltale Games are set for retail while the Collector’s Edition comes with the first 48-issues of the comic book/graphic novel series.

Before The Walking Dead went on break television viewing records and became AMC’s most successful show to date and had a video game spin-off, it was a comic book or graphic novel if you will, designed by Robert Kirkman and Tony Moore as well as a number of other artists.

However, in between the comics and the video game there was the Television series, which is currently in its third season with the tone grimmer and darker than ever but with fans loving every second of it.

At the same time, the game has been received with positive reviews and fans cannot seem to wait for all five episodes, with the first four having been released to top the download charts on the PlayStation Network.

Now GameStop is looking to lure in the fans of the series, like zombies, to its upcoming The Walking Dead offer. The Collector’s Edition of the game will combine all five episodes of the successful series and see them released on BluRay and DVD respectively (Not of the TV series but rather the game).

Alongside it however, fans who are new to the comic books or always wanted to leaf through them now have the incentive to do so as the Collector’s Edition also comes with The Walking Dead Compendium 1. The collection brings together the first 48-issues of the long-running comic book series into one, rather thick, copy.

The Collector’s Edition is set to retail at $69.99 at GameStop and is only available through pre-order.

To be more specific the Collector’s Edition comes with:

“A disc containing all five episodes of the game” as well as “The Walking Dead Compendium One with exclusive Charlie Adlard cover art” with “A Collector’s Edition box featuring Charlie Adlard artwork” thrown in for good measure as well.

For those gamers who don’t want all the extras and simply want the five episodes of the game there is of course the Standard Edition which is set to retail at $29.99.

The fifth episode of the game is set to release sometime next month and one can expect the retail version to be released this holiday season. Reports have emerged that the disc versions of the game will be released on the 4th of December on both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3.

Will you be picking yourself up a copy of the game? If yes, then does the standard edition or the Collector’s Edition tickle your fancy? If not, then what is wrong with you?
