Part 2: Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation sees Ubisoft’s full-on debut of the series on the PlayStation Vita and they seem to be bringing their A-game to the portable gaming console.
The holiday season officially kicks off in November, however, many also see the release of the FIFA games as the beginning of the highly lucrative and fiercely competitive period. One game that is set to release just before the major console heavyweights is Ubisoft’s:
Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation
Release Date: it depends on the territory with the 30th of October the date it releases in the United States, 31st of October the European release date and the 15th of November the day Japan finally sees the game.
Assassin’s Creed is one of this generation’s biggest franchises. Since the first game was released, to mixed reviews, one could sense that the series had the potential to be a game changer, no pun intended. It took the free-to-roam, open world, sandbox concept and took it to the next level with some of the richest environments, immersive storyline and coolest assassinations the world has seen.
In fact, many believe that the members of the Creed can give old-school videogame Hitman, Agent 47, a run for his money.
Liberation is an off-shoot of the core series in the sense that Desmond Miles is not reliving the past of his ancestors through the animus. Instead, this little project has a little twist to it, as Abstergo, the front for the Templar operations, is behind this game and want to demonstrate a gray area between the Assassins and the Templars.
In some ways many can consider this to be the brainwashing propaganda of the sworn enemies of the Assassin’s Creed.
This play with who is behind the game should intrigue Assassin’s Creed fans and have many of them considering a purchase.
At the same time, the gameplay itself is set to take place during the time of Assassin’s Creed 3 but in a different location. To be more specific, while Assassin’s Creed 3 takes place in Boston, New York and the surrounding forests during the battle for independence, Liberation will take place in New Orleans and will deal with the slave trade.
The protagonist is also a female character, which is the first time in the series. It seems that Abstergo really knows how to market its propaganda. In any case, the game is set to turn a few heads and if it can prove to be half as decent as it’s console counterparts then both Ubisoft and Sony could have a very jolly Christmas indeed.
