News.wishfree.com brings you a list of useful tips and tricks to help you master Bend Studio’s PlayStation Vita title.
The Uncharted series is known for being one of the most complete titles in the market today; the game has everything from puzzle solving to shooting, hand-to-hand combat to platforming and some of the best storytelling any video game has to offer.
Uncharted: Golden Abyss is the first title in the series to make its way on to the PlayStation Vita and it also brings with it the successful formula of the Naughty Dog developed series. At the same time, there are a number of things that first time players of both the game and users of the console will not know, which really does enhance the experience and adds an extra layer of immersion.
Traversal Tips:
Bend Studios seem to have made it their mission to demonstrate the PlayStation Vita impressive technology and this cannot be more apparent than in their new traversal controls.
Instead of holding the analogue stick in the direction of the next climbable ledge, players needs simply drag their fingers across the ledges once and Nathan Drake will obediently traverse the area according to the user’s input.
It may not seem like much but it does make traversal a breeze and allows players more time to plan their next move as well as take in the scenery.
Also if one feels that the controls are actually fighting against the player and Drake is climbing or reaching out for obstacles that the user isn’t intending for him to, then they need to ensure that the Vita is level as tilting the controller is also one of the many non-button commands used in the game.
Combat
Uncharted boasts a wide variety of combat, ranging from hand-to-hand to gunplay as well as stealth elements. Using all of these is important but there is an order that one should follow when approaching any situation.
The first thing a player should look at is whether or not they can take out all the enemy soldiers and mercenaries using stealth. It may take longer and require patience but the satisfaction during both the takedowns and when all the guards have been taken care of is something every gamer will enjoy.
Players will often find patterns to the guards’ patrols and see them get isolated one by one. Even if the player cannot take out everyone using stealth it would be best to thin down their numbers quietly before moving on to the firearms and gunplay.
