EA Sports is focused on innovation and providing a constant supply of fresh content for gamers for FIFA 13 while at the same time looking to provide a more expansive experience.
FIFA 12 raised the bar, not just for football simulations games, but every sports title with its fluid gameplay and physical impact engine – the latter was used by DICE in Battlefield 3 as well.
So one can expect that all eyes will be on how EA Sports can improve on what many term as the best football simulation title of all time.
The EA Sports Executive Vice-President, Andrew Wilson, addressed those questions in a recent interview when he shared details on the developer’s three-pillared approach to the game.
He pointed out how innovation was a crucial factor in improving the franchise and that the game’s first-touch control, AI and dribbling had all been revamped to provide a more authentic and immersive experience.
Wilson also pointed out how they planned on building on EA Sports Club once again and widening the scope of the experience by providing a constant stream of fresh content to keep gamers interested.
“Lastly the big thing for us is connecting you to other fans, connecting you to your club and the experiences across platforms so the game is always with you.” Said the EA Sports EVP, Andrew Wilson.
The new feature will allow gamers to continue their FIFA experience on other devices as well and stay in constant touch with the happenings of the game. He said, “You’re going to be able to manage your FIFA Ultimate Team on PC, on iPhone and do all the stuff that you’d otherwise have to be sat in front of your console to do. Now you’re going to do it all day and when you get home at night it’s ready to play.”
The interactivity and connectivity is sure to please the hardcore fans of the series, especially those Ultimate Team players who do not want to miss out on the player auctions.
Andrew Wilson summed everything up regarding EA Sports’ approach to FIFA 13 when he said, “For us it’s innovation, it’s product plus service and it’s connection and I think the FIFA team with FIFA 13 is really leading from the front on that again.”
Whether or not FIFA 13 can actually out do FIFA 12 remains to be seen but many believe that what they have heard so far does sound promising. However, EA Sports have to keep an eye on Pro Evolution Soccer as well, with Konami looking to put up a good fight this time around.
